🦋 Our Family Day at the Butterfly Park

We arrived a little warm and tired, but stepping into the glasshouse felt like walking into a green jungle full of magic. The kids each grabbed a paper checklist of butterflies — and of course, the competition started right away! Some of us carefully spotted and crossed them off one by one, while others (we won’t name names 😉) may have cheated just a little.

We are not users, but the paths were stroller-friendly and easy to walk. The air was humid, but we found shady corners and benches when we needed a break. The facilities were simple but family-friendly — a café for cold drinks and ice cream, and a gift shop full of butterfly toys that made our youngest’s eyes shine.

Was it hot? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely! Seeing bright butterflies land on our shoulders and hair was one of those moments that make family trips unforgettable. We left feeling happy, a little sweaty, and full of stories to tell.

Combine with nearby sights

Make the most of your day in Benalmádena by adding one of these family favorites:

  • Benalmádena Stupa: A huge white Buddhist temple right next door—great for photos and peaceful gardens.
  • Cable Car (Teleférico Benalmádena): Ride up Mount Calamorro for views of the coast (on clear days, you can see Morocco!).
  • Sea Life Aquarium: Interactive tanks and touch pools, perfect if kids are still curious about animals.
  • Paloma Park: Big park with rabbits, chickens, and playgrounds—perfect picnic spot.
